the key question here is how profitable this world will be AFTER the infrastructure we are feverishly building right now nears completion. I see a world with very few barriers to entry, rampant competition, and cutthroat pricing. Also, a world where whole armies of service workers will be made obsolete. It seems the bond market is starting to agree with
this view.

We are in a transitional period where people are being displaced and retrained... But we also have the Microsoft's and Intel's of the world that are creating jobs that didn't exist before... The internet will help keep inflation in check because of increased competition... This will bring down real interest rates and improve the bottom lines of those companies that can't get the improvements from price increases of their products...
