LV RT got noticed at ESC Spring 2000 as reported by embedded technology(ws):

National Instruments of Austin, Texas is to be found at many of the industry?s major trade shows, but only recently has the leading supplier of computer-based measurement and automation products made its presence felt at ESC. This week, NI brought its new real-time data acquisition and control system based on PXI/CompactPCI and LabVIEW RT, the firm?s popular and easy-to-use graphical programming environment for development and deployment of embedded, real-time applications.

With LabVIEW RT, users can develop their high-speed data acquisition, control, test and discrete and process control applications on a standard Windows PC. They then can evoke a pull-down menu command that downloads their application across an Ethernet network to run deterministically and reliably on a PXI/CompactPCI embedded controller.

Once embedded, LabVIEW RT applications acquire analog and digital I/O through the firm?s data acquisition and signal conditioning modules plugged into the PXI system chassis. As a result, users can address their real-time application needs with a rugged, modular PXI platform with a wide available variety of options. The LabVIEW RT development system starts at $3495 while the PXI/CompactPCI embedded controller costs $3895. Call (800) 258-7022 for more details.
