>btw, anyone else notice Moto taking out C-Port (network processors) last week? with LU snatching up Agere, who wants to wager that SiTera is up next?<

is ego-stroking oneself in public considering gauche? can i pat myself on the back here?

yeah, too bad i'm not as good at predicting the ponies ...

nicely, this acquisition puts us closer to Nortel. SiTera's got a partner alliance with Wind River and integrated their embedded application development platform and integrated routing code from phase2 networks (an NT company).

and while i'm not too familiar with Rambus, perhaps interestingly, SiTera does employ Rambus' DRAM interface in their own Prism product. in addition, both Extreme Packet Devices (PMCS acquisition) and Orologic (our acquisition), are also apparently developing products that will use the Rambus interface.
