Haqi, I can understand your frustrations with the mainstream denominations and feel that many things are getting out of hand. Many of these denominations started out as of a sovereign work of the Holy Ghost but then when God pulls back a bit or tries to lead in a different direction the people don't respond. Maybe there was an anointing over the singing so the people sang and sang and sang. Perhaps each time the presence would come over the people. After a while the people just expected that this is the only way to meet God and put more emphasis on singing than anything else. But say God then decides he wants to deal with the issue of repentence with that particular church. The people are not responding to the calling of the Holy Spirit to repentence and are now becoming frustrated that God's presence isn't like it used to be when they used to sing. Or say it started with great teachings of the Word. After a while the people have a great knowledge of the Word but God isn't looking for heads he is looking for hearts. So now it's time to change the anointing that fell on the teaching to say that of having love for God and their fellow man. The tendency of man is to stick with what he knows and expand upon it instead of truly seeking after God.

When I visit a church that hands out programs at the door I have doubts that the ministry is sincere in letting God have his way in the service, nevertheless this is not to say a church should not develop a method of pressing into the things of God. A ministry that has a hearing heart and a willing spirit is a blessing to the people.

I find it a shame that many pastors spend more time on preparing for the offering than they will for a sermon. I thank God that the church I attend takes an offering only once a week and no sermon is required to get the congregation to respond.

I have found that if the flesh is comfortable in it's striving after God then it is not God at all which is being sought. The scriptures firmly state that the spirit and the flesh are at constant war with each other, each tries to dominate over the other. The flesh will go back to the dust from which it came and since it is in complete disagreement with the things of God I am under the opinion that God is not to well pleased with it. So why should the flesh find consolation in the church? It is the spirit that needs church not the flesh. So why does the flesh dominate in most churches?

Oh that America would have a revival!
