<<I would support anyone who supports the principles of limited constitutional government - specifically our Constitution - ALL OF IT. I would happily support an Orthodox Jew, a Reformed Jew, a Muslim, or an Atheist who convinced me that is what they would work for.>>

and therein lies the rub. An evangelicalist would have to convince me that he would not abuse his/her position to "spread the word of Christ," (or use the Bible to make policy). That would be a very tough thing to do seeing as it is precisely that which is embedded in evangelicalism. I would have to be convinced that the interests of the US would come before his/her views of the interests of God. If that could be done, I wouldn't have a problem at all. I just don't see how a member of the RR would ever be able to do it.

The world is simply too complex of a place these days...

PS - IMO, McCain has simply outsmarted Bush at every turn, politics has been a game of liars poker for the last 3000 years, why should this election be any different. The only difference is that today, we see it for what it is. If u really wanted someone with character in the race, we shoulda gotten Powell off his butt and into game. Now there's someone I could admire. Hell, I'd even give Ventura a shot, at least he's honest.
