The President says that he wants to institutionalize the relationship with a country like India which has "become a global player with considerable influence on every issue that matters to the American People". Asked about this new cozying-up to India and its impact on China and pakistan, the president stated " we will pursue our interests in each country separately". Furthermore Texas Governor GW Bush and the Vice President have "recognized the value of India as a partner".
