CD R/W Laser Manufacturer: ELNT Elantec (ELNT 59 1/8 +3) Chase Hambrecht & Quist placed the BUY rated stock on its "Focus List," noting that the issue is off 25% in 2 days due to a rumor of a new entrant in the CD-R/W laser diode driver market (40% of ELNT's sales in Dec-99). Firm believes the rumor is ill-founded and notes that the CD-R/W market is growing at triple digits, driven by Internet music trend. $100 price target.
