C'mon Michael, the President of BJU is on record saying these things. Ask Pat Robertson. I don't have to go down to SC and do personal investigative reporting to know that, any more than I expect you to hop on a bus and follow the McCain campaign around personally in order to feel entitled to form an opinion of McCain. Some media are reputable in this country. The New York Times and the Washington Post and the New York Review of Books and The Economist are not sleazy tabloids. (Spare me the jeremiads against "liberal press bias", folks). We do have a free press. It's not all simply a sinister pack of lies.
