I became aware of this today. CableLabs publicly
released two documents dated 2/25/00 (see links below)
that basically announce that:

1. S-CDMA is not part of DOCSIS at the present time.
There is no guarantee that it will be, either.

2. A functional prototype preserving backwards compatibility
with DOCSIS 1.1 is required before CableLabs will consider
placing the technology into a specification.

3. The term "DOCSIS 1.2" doesn't exist anymore

4. Any contributed technology must be included in the
DOCSIS royalty-free IPR pool for it to be adopted as
part of the standard.

I just got my Patent Awards letter offer today to
have it made into a plaque or mug. That's how I
know it finally came out.
