1. Most online brokers do not monitor these stocks and so will not let you buy them, and even the few that let you monitor them like etrade still will not let you buy them. You will need to call up you brokers to be able to answer these questions properly as the conditions vary from broker to broker. I bought mine through a traditional broker on margin, but I do have a very long relationship with them and took only a small position.

2. Generally speaking, yes, no margin for BB stocks.

BB stocks are generally avoided because they are usually small companies with low stock prices, small float, very volatile and have less stringent SEC monitoring than the NYSE and the NAZ. As well there is generally less information available to the public to make wise investment choices and are generally not covered by wall street.

Buck:

I don't buy many BB stocks, but I bought this one with no problem at Brown & Company last Tuesday.

I'd been lurking this stock for weeks, and for reasons known only to God bought on Tuesday @ 8 3/4. This is the quickest gain I've ever seen after a purchase, and I may never do better. Don't like the SEC news, but love the technology. I'm holding on.

Blaine

TDwaterhose is often tempermental, sometimes I got a BB quote when selecting "US composite" instead of "NASDAQ"
But I tried SCON and ISCO and today they work either way.

I missed out, someone told me to buy them 3 weeks ago, but after I did some reading and planned to buy them, they both had put on the afterburners. I have a problem chasing stocks that go up 10x in a few weeks, but in a few years these prices can look cheap, if the technology works and the 3G wireless market starts escalating.
I would keep them, as your cost basis was low, no sense paying tax, soon they should be listed and you can use the stock value as margin.
