You imply that the minorities who voted for Bush were bought.
The money is spent on advertising. It's just that no other polititians tend to run since it is a statewide, so potentially expensive race, but you can't do anything once you get the job. Most past governors were either retired polititians who already had name recognition or wealthy ranchers from obscure places who wanted some attention (besides their cows).

And will the Lieutenant Governor become governor if Bush wins the presidency? It always amazed me that Gore was more openly in favor of convicting Clinton. I always predicted publicly that our next president would be Al Gore. I expected from succession.
I think we should require random drug tests for Federal employees, and not pay them if they turn up positive two times in their term.
