Canadain stocks are not in vogue at the moment. We have a high tech boom going on that is sucking money away from the value plays. Much worse than what you are all experiencing.
I think eventually the big usa names will move north with the cheap dollar and undervalued assets. Companies like KEG or CHK would have gone under in Canada. The market punishes debt up north so be careful what you buy.
A list (remember do your own dd)
drillers-well the cheap has to be Akita akt.a,t trades at 8.5 has about 26 drills working, 10 million shares about.
service- bonus Bou,t like your keg stock about 2.5 dollars
oil stocks- buy good names like aec,t (38),rax,t(20),crs,t(17.50)and axl,t.Some you guys know would be ranger or can oxy. Ranger stock is stuck.
One incredible cheap big name would be res,t. At 11.75 produces about 136,000 boed, debt 1.4 billion number of shares 156 million.Stock keeps going lower. Great buyout potential for a usa comp.
Of course you can buy IMO,T which is majority owned by exxon. And take a look at TLM,T. Out of favor with the Sudan investment but incredible cash flow.

Just remember your buying canadain....many comp's trading at big time discount but they may get cheaper yet. Watch Newport NPP,T to see who takes them out to gauge this market. None of our comp's can get a equity financing to expand drilling. All drilling coming from cash flow. Another reason why canadain production may not be that great for your next winter heating season.

sorry for the long post....back to catching my dinner through the ice..
