ML had a meeting with AMD management yesterday and is saying positive things about the stock this AM. I wonder if they might change their rating on the stock. I wonder if this could have a positive impact on the stock performance...NAW! Regards, DARBES

Samuel - From that article, Jerry Sanders is predicting the new AMD 64 bit Sledgehammer will have an advantage over the Intel Itanium because software developers will not have to re-write their software for Sledgehammer. I have two questions. 1. Since Sledgehammer is a 64 bit machine, any software not re-written for the 64 bits will only run existing 32 bit software - what advantage will that be on a 64 bit CPU? 2. Since Mr. Sanders said the Sledgehammer won't be out until the end of 2001, that leaves almost two years for software developers to write their code for the Itanium - since this chip has been sampling since late in 1999. Won't that negate any disadvantages of the necessity to rewrite software - since developers have over two full years to do this on the Intel 64 bit chip - before the AMD 64 bit CPU comes out? Monica
