OT palm vs Sandisk valuation Palm at $100.00 per share equates to a market cap of... $57,000,000,000.00 or about 10 times that of SNDK's $5.75 billion market cap.
Is that realistic???
Ausdauer ,

It all depends what you mean by realistic!!!
Is it realistic according to finance?
Absolutely not.
Is it realistic according to what people will pay.
I believe so.
Does this make sense?
Well, do 95% of internet/high tech valuations make sense?
Probably not.
Do I care as long as I can sell my 3Com at ridiculously high prices?
Absolutely not <g>.

I have seen figures put forward of œ300 or even $1000 a share for Palm*. If someone is willing to pay me $1500 for my 3Com shares (Palm * 1.5) then that sounds like a realistic price to me <g>

FWIW I bought 3com stricty for Palm. I will either sell 3com and buy Palm at the same time (why wait 6 months), or if the numbers get too silly, just sell and wait for Palm to drop a bit. Incidentally, for those who might want some more easy money, there will be another chance in 6 months time. When 3Com holders get Palm shares in 6 months, most will (IMHO) sell their 3com within a day or two. So the 3com price will probably plummet extremely low for a few days. Buying on that dip could give you 20% to maybe 50% within a week.

*Of course, we could argue that if Palm is worth $100 a share then Sandisk is worth <insert your own huge number here> !

Happy trading on Thursday.
