"Q" - Yeah Baby ... XTO on the move, E&P upgrades all over; Merrill says 40% E&P pop coming...

Get 'em while you can folks !

The "play/trade" right here - right now; is to sell OSX mo-mo fav's into strength (pre-OPEC meeting) and to load onto the laggard value plays in E&P land.

Here is yet another reason why one should sell the OSX strength (in most cases - not RIG FLC DO ) and rotate to E&P's.

Reports have been out for a month that Canadian Rig counts have allready peaked and will NOT increase in 2001. Now the Baker Hughes Rig count reflects the same thing in land rig use in the US presently:

Inland barges rose by 2 (to 16)
Offshore rigs increased by 2 (to 122)
US land rigs fell by 17 (to 622)
Canadian rigs increased by 8 (to 545)

bakerhughes.com

While I still see obvious appreciation in land drillers & service companies - they have been fairly, if not fully priced here on those expectations; the rig counts are flatening and the divergence in shareprice valuation between the OSX & E&P's will see that gap closed for massive % gains post the OPEC meeting imho...

I would continually sell bits & pieces (dollar cost avg selling) of the SII BJS CAM WFT ESV RDC's into strength and rotate to E&P plays untill the divergence gap in valuations closes.

We shall see...

JPQ,

Yeah baby, this should take us back to above ten along with gas prices. Not to late to buy more but I intend to wait to see if they can overcome the debt/equity issue. Personally I think that they under-estimated the future of Arkoma basin in their conference call and will have more good news to come. That news could be the last straw.
