Modern science suggests that "chance" or luck of the draw is not operative in the sense that someone is luckier or less lucky than anyone else. This would suggest that "chance" had an energy of its own that would give or take away luck. I didn't particularly like it at first, but than decided that chance did not have a will of its own but that God must have been the determining factor when someone wins at a game of chance. No, the number 13 is not unlucky but we do have many superstituous people.

I think no more unlucky than any other number, unless having two parts is bad luck. You recall of course that "13" has serious religious implications. (One & Three). Representing the innate tension between Judaism and Christianity.
