Foreign investment portfolio limits raised Agence France-Presse Mumbai, February 29: Indian Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha announced on Tuesday that the cap on equity holdings in domestic companies by foreign portfolio investors would be raised from 30 to 40 per cent. "I propose to raise this limit to 40 percent to allow Indian companies to take advantage of foreign capital," Sinha said as he unveiled the budget for the fiscal year beginning April 1.
