Cory:

Re: "It was a positive report. I do have some demand concerns in regards to Athlon. I know about half a dozen people who made home computer purchases in the last few weeks and none of them were Athlon based. Not concerned enough however in regards to the stock movement as I nibbled some more this AM."

Comment: Rome wasn't built in a day...Given the growing list of Athlon accolades, it can be difficult to remember that the Athlon 500 Mhz was launched a mere 3 months before the PWeeIII 733's...Measured by that yardstick, or any other reasonable yardstick, the Athlon has surpassed even the most optimistic of expectations...It'll be interesting to see just how large the Athlon increment is in Q1, assuming a Q4 base of 1 million! Personally, given the newcomers FTW and HP as well as overseas vendor additions combined with increasingly sophisticated motherboards, I can't see them coming in under 1.5 Athys...and once again that means record revenues exceeding $1 billion and the possibility of record eps exceeding $0.75!

Cory, did the ML report mention commercial demand as well as
retail demand? I'm assuming retail market still strong if it was positive with regards to AMD. I'm assuming there must of been some warnings of potential price-war as well.
thanks,
Joey
