Our equivalent to IRAs is an RRSP until age 68 or an RRIF after. Both are restricted to 20% foreign content, which will climb to 30% in 2 steps if the measures in yesterday's budget speech are passed.

yet for some strange reason, derivatives are treated as Canadian content even if the underlying is a foreign equity.
Thus, for those willing to use various option strategies in their retirement accounts, there is no practical limit on foreign content.

I hadn't realized that Zeev was trading in his IRA; and I thought that he'd bought CYMI at a lower price than he actually did.

Obviously I wasn't paying sufficient attention.
