Scrapps - so your two posts indicate that Orckit is using chips with AWRE technology in their hardware! That sounds great, and indicates that Orckit couldn't design and make the chips themselves. I like that idea.

As for the Qualcomm comparison, doesn't Qualcomm make and sell chips in addition to licensing its technology to other chip makes?

Not sure that I see any connection between Orckit and the Virata/ADI relationship. It appears to me that Orckit would be still be using their own ADSL chipset, but they have gone to Virata for their leading higher layer chip.
