Entered NXTP. Downside looks like 30. Upside? This one was a huge offering. 23.5 million shares. Looks like that is what held it down. Goldman Sachs IPO. I always like to see that. Deal comanagers included DLJ,CSFB, Deutsche Bank Securities, First Union Securities, Morgan Stanley. Exclusive rights to NXTL wireless services.

From their site...
"We provide digital wireless communications services in mid-sized and smaller markets throughout the United States. We hold broadband wireless licenses that cover 40 million persons, or Pops, in 46 markets. We are licensed to operate in 12 of the top 100 metropolitan statistical areas in the United States ranked by population and 51 of the top 200 metropolitan statistical areas. We also have the option, under certain circumstances, to acquire from a subsidiary of Nextel licenses that cover an additional 13 million Pops, of which we currently intend to acquire licenses covering 2.3 million Pops. In January 1999, we entered into an affiliation with Nextel, whose wholly owned subsidiary owns 36.5% of our common stock prior to our initial public offering and is our largest stockholder. This affiliation was created to accelerate the build-out of the Nextel digital mobile network by granting us the exclusive right to offer wireless communications services under the Nextel brand in selected mid-sized and smaller markets. We have calculated total Pops for a given market by utilizing the 1990 census data for each county within the market and extrapolating such data through 1997 based on estimated population growth rates"
