ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Feb. 29 /PRNewswire/ --
Rhythms NetConnections Inc. (Nasdaq: RTHM), a North American provider of
broadband communications services, today released financial results for its
fourth quarter and year-ended December 31, 1999.
Revenue for the fourth quarter increased 65 percent to $5.5 million as
compared to third quarter 1999 revenue of $3.3 million. Revenue for the year
ended December 31, 1999, was $11.1 million, a significant increase over the
$528,000 reported for year ended December 31, 1998.
Reflecting the rapid deployment of its national network and the launch of
a national brand campaign, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and
amortization of deferred expenses (EBITDA), for the 1999 fourth quarter was a
loss of $71.4 million. This compares to an EBITDA loss of $46.1 million for
the third quarter of 1999. Included in the 1999 fourth quarter EBITDA results
is approximately $9.5 million in operating lease expense. EBITDA for the year
ended December 31, 1999, was a loss of $167.9 million versus a loss of
$26.6 million for the previous year. Included in the 1999 EBITDA results is
$21.6 million in operating lease expense.
As of December 31, 1999, Rhythms had 12,500 DSL lines in service,

California Inc. (Nasdaq:PSUN) Tuesday reported sales of $26.9 million
for the four week period ended Feb. 27, 2000, an increase of 41% over
sales of $19.1 million for the comparable four week period ended Feb.
28, 1999.

Company same store sales increased 9.8% for the period with PacSun same
store sales up 9.2% and d.e.m.o. same store sales up 23.0%.

Pacific Sunwear is a leading specialty retailer of everyday casual
apparel, accessories and footwear designed to meet the needs of active
