Gopher, <If AMD wrote compilers ...> Good point. Why doesn't AMD write compilers then? Seems to me all that potential performance within Athlon will remain "potential" until compilers start taking advantage of it. Like I mentioned before, AMD said they can get a 40-50% improvement in SPEC95fp_base "with 266 MHz bus and projected prefetch and compiler optimizations." So who's doing the compiler optimizations for AMD? Tenchusatsu
