My guess is larger wireless/broadband companies are coming out with true wireless internet (AT&T, Lucent, Time Warner) cheaper and more reliably.

Also, I've said it before, 900 Mhz cordless freqs will get you in trouble with the FCC if you use it in dense populations. 900 Mhz cordless frequency range is like a public park. It's OK to have a barbecue on the premises every now and then.

When you commandeer a large part of a public park to build a drive-thru hamburger joint, you risk the FCC Park Ranger coming down on you.
