The Kevin Landis news has helped this stock a lot. ELON definitely gives me the courage to hold. ELON is a niche player in comparison to vXWorks, just one the companies that uses WIND's OS as its platform. Looking forward to earnings on Thursday. I doubt PR is over. They are a mature comapny and leak out the PR bit by bit instead of rushing it out all at once. Need to see big players standardize on their platform. Some of the old wins are just taking root, i.e. i20/Infiniband.

delphcOracl: momo dynamics aside, imho the reason that Elon has been skyrocketing may be a little more substantial than your post suggests.
While ELON has been skyrocketing due to burgeoning interest in companies involved with embedded systems, WIND is the real deal.

I always find your posts useful and respect your approach and contributions here, in fact, I beleive that we hold many of the same stocks for the same reasons. I have been long Elon for some time and have passed the 1000% mark on this one. If you look closely at Elon I suspect that you might like what you see - imho, they are the global market leader in Open Proprietary Control Systems, their products address enormous markets, they have an ANSI std., incredible management, healthy financials, exciting growth prospects and strong connections to major industrial OEM's as well as to Cisco, Sun, Oracle and Microsoft.

Wind River is also a very interesting company and when they dipped a few weeks back as far down as 28 and change, intraday, I knew it was the right time to buy - of course I didn't, but hey these things happen all the time. WIND shines brightly on my radar screen and I am still considering starting a position here.

Elon focuses strongly on Control Networks, not on Data Networks which is the market that Wind addressess as far as I can understand. Both markets are huge and a position in both might auger well for the future.

Take a look at this email which is from ELON IR. imho you could substitute the word "world" for "home"

In the home, most companies we've been talking to agree that there will likely be entertainment, data, and control networks all co-existent in the "networked home". So, Bluetooh, HomePNA, UPnP, Jini or others should be fine along side a LonWorks network performing complimentaty tasks. As
evidence of this, note our work with networking giants Cisco, Microsoft, and Sun.

It may be no coincidence that Elon is currently looking to hire someone with experience in writing for Wind's vXWorks platform. Elon is about Control Networks that are fully interoperable with whatevers out there...this is one reason why they are so special and have an early and substantial lead in their market. Give them a gander.
