VERY THOROUGH ARTICLE! Thank you for posting it.

One section jumped out at me:
==========================================================
Phil Holden, group product manager at Microsoft's mobile devices group, dismissed the swelling ranks of Palm OS developers as mostly individuals hacking together programs for fun.

"It's almost like this community of real geeks that are developing simple apps and shareware," he said. Meanwhile, Microsoft said it has shipped more than 100,000 software development tool kits for Windows CE.
==========================================================

I don't know about y'all but I L O V E the smell of Microsofties on the run! Isn't that special - they are shipping their kit of BLOATWARE CONSTRUCTION TOOLS?! And of course WE PALMsters ARE "geeks" & "individuals hacking"!

And what about the tone of desperation that was glaringly apparent in their Cebit announcement of Pocket PC? They were nakedly defensive, feeling the need to specify, "we'll be shipping in June and we WON'T be missing this deadline...". (I'm paraphrasing.) Usually the F.U.D. (fear, uncertainty & doubt) that they sow in cases like this is a tad more subtle. Okay... so the world will wait around to see if your NEW, IMPROVED WinCE (lack of a space intended) will FINALLY prove to be something better than the buggy bloatware that the CE division has been inflicting on the marketplace. N O T !!!

Bill ( Has Been ) Gates and his evil empire, Microsloth, are being rendered more and more irrelevant with each week. And for that I loudly proclaim HURRAH!
