[World DRAM Price] DRAM Prices Further Decline by More Than 5 Pct. March 1, 2000 (TOKYO) -- The oversupply of 64Mb DRAMs has continued, resulting in continuous price declines. The drop is becoming larger -- in three major markets, the rolling average prices of DRAMs for large users and the spot prices marked more than 5 percent declines for the period of Jan. 13 to Feb. 11. According to a worldwide survey conducted by ICIS-LOR, the 30-day (Jan. 13 - Feb. 11, 2000) rolling average prices for 64Mb DRAMs (PC100, 8M x 8) for large users were US$8.41 in North America, US$8.95 in Europe and US$9.07 in Asia. Compared with the previous week's 30-day rolling average prices until Feb. 4, they declined 5.03 percent in North America, 5.36 percent in Europe and 5.58 percent in Asia. ICIS has bases in London, Houston and Singapore. As for prices of memory modules, the spot price for 64MB dual inline memory modules (DIMMs, PC100) fell 6.47 percent from the previous week to US$57.50 in North America. It also declined 7.08 percent to US$58.10 in Europe and 6.89 percent to US$55.95 in Asia.
