I've seen that alot.
I think NW had every right to be riled, if he assumed I directed the original post to him. I didn't, and thought I'd made that clear.
Still, it's not hard to see why people are pissed at this management when you consider where some of these guys averaged in. I considered buying CPQ when it was at 40, too, but for some bizarre reason opted not to. Sometimes bizarre is good....we all have our fortunate decision making days.
Personally, I'm a buy and hold person. I tried day trading, and short term trading, and lost my shirt in one of the biggest bull markets. The thing that saved me was the stocks I'd bought and held. So, I figure you go with what you're good at. If I tossed out my experimentation with daytrading, I'm way ahead of most investors. I can't however, so the best I get to claim is that I have beaten all the major indexes over the last 2 years. Which isn't bad in itself. And even that wouldn't be true if it weren't for ORCL in the last half of 1999.
