Thanks Dave! Didn't realize there was a connection between Hitachi and Battery Engineering. Here's the link to the first introduction of the laptop cells by Sharp last fall:

If BE is making the cells for Hitachi-Maxell, these may be describing the same product.

Upon reviewing the specs at the BE site, their cells only provide about 100 wh/kg... well below the '175 wh/kg' mentioned on the Hitachi site. Maybe that's a later generation for them, not yet available.
