So, I must be crazy. I'll be selling my COMS(avg. $24) sometime during the next couple of days with a shorterm profit equal to about 1 yrs. pay, so that I can pay off the margin with which I've continued to accumulate NOVL(avg. $17) and still accumulate.

Great post, Paul! I too have given up.....swating and swinging at the sandfleas of Provo for almost 5 years! Not long ago a company with a billion dollars cash and no debt on paper was considered a investment of a life time. Novell fit that example, why they even had a decent product! Today that profile and the company's mormon oops! I mean moron mentality suggests it may well be a technical playground for engineers and software geniuses ...but it sure is garbage for an ordinary investor! Wall Street seems to know it and I think I finally have also........Sayonara Utah !Finally what pissed me off was Silicon Investor changing the format & layout of this thread! You would almost think they had consulted with the Provos.....

I agree with Paul, Toy, Peter and others on the fact that Novell isn't performing as well in the marketplace consistent with what their leadership in their technology space would suggest. This is not to deny the strong contributions that Eric S. has made to bring this company to where it is now. Before Eric, they were out of the game. Now they are back in the game, but they must execute. And execute quickly before they loose their advantage. Whether they should go after the consumer market or the internet infrastructure market is one that Novell needs to best answer. What Novell needs is extremely strong marketing leadership and strategic planning. If they can't capitalize the the strong technology base that they have, they should merge with someone who can leverage Novell's strengths. Hopefully, the right people at Novell are using these message boards to force themselves to ask the right questions, no matter how painful it is.
