SB - my point exactly. DELL seems to be working to shore up the leaks in the financial boat, but what I have seen so far really amounts to a way to (possibly) achieve the 30% growth they have said they will do in 2000. If that's all there is we will be at 50 a year from now. If there is a bigger game afoot, they are remarkably good at hiding the evidence...

<<Seriously, if MD doesn't let the world know what his plans are for the company, I suspect the stock is just going to sit in the low 40's. It's a real shame, as the markets are making a lot of investor very rich.>>

If your suspected stagnation scenario comes to pass then it may even be further exacerbated by the image it projects.Said image being of a "fallen star".Potential new investors look at a chart that shows no appreciation in a year and decline to invest.I have made 11.5% since my reentry into DELL 2 weeks ago and am now starting to believe it's time move on.
Cheers
Ed

Larry,
Hi!!

RE: Hi Kemble, I have a knack of asking the right questions at the right time.

I never consider timing ....I'm sure they'll come up with numbers and announcements that will prove what they have been working on...Surely if DELL has one " fault" it's the fact that they don't scream about certain things when they should...But, I believe this all falls into their "underestimate and then overachieve" philosophy....I just enjoy my attempts at piecing together certain announcements and dreaming of what they are configuring for the future....The possibilities are endless...The model has created an environment that IMO throws opportunity after opportunity...and going after the most lucrative ones just may be the most difficult task for them...This I believe is why it is so time consuming on our minds...For them I don't believe they view it as such...Certainly all are anxious...Yet, producing a new revenue growth with high profits surely isn't something to be rushed...

Best, Kemble
