(Index Funds will have to buy JDSU)
I'm all for it! My current strategy is a tri-stock play of JDSU, QCOM, and GMST. I'm hoping for all three to make it big, but I'll be happy if two out of three make it big. That's just the current game I'm into. I'm just not counting on some index arbitrage to turn JDSU into a big play. I'm counting on lasers, and diffraction gratings, and gizmos I don't know about to propell this stock into the stratosphere.
TP

(Edit, I do think that a fund manager, in a family of funds, will be able to argue that he does not want to move shares to a related index fund, but the family executives will make the final decision as to the merits of the move)

David: Great post.

RE: "And every time the stock goes up, the more volatile it'll be."

Don't see it. Not due to S&P inclusion. I think of that as a big sink for shares of JDSU. Since those index funds aren't actively traded they'll just buy and hold the shares.
