TO ALL:
Check out Andy Yamaguchi post on CORNIG-GLW Fiberoptic King Thread dated 2/29

"Corning announced new optical processor and interleave DWDM products today. Corning's new optical signal processor can increase the transfer distance for the optical signal at least five times without reconditioning the signals. GLW is the KING for fiberoptics and passive fiberoptics components. I guess AVNX is late and facing more and more competition now.

The GLW's new device involved a method to equalize polarization distortion for the optical signals. They try to cancel the distortion by a phase compensation. GLW's volume and technology are real and it is in volume production now.

In adddition, Corning also announced interleave DWDM products today. Using the interleave technology developed by Corning engineers, GLW is able to make 50 Ghz DWDM filters using Ghz thin film filters, which reduces the cost for DWDM filters significantly...While AVNX is still fighting with their new processor, Giant Corning is going to move ahead to further distance Corning's lead in fiberoptics technology from their small competitors like avnx..."

I would like POET to explain the above physics to this thread.

Ahhh...like I said, THE ACORN THAT ROARED...Will GLW make JDSU feel like Paul Newman in B Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
WHO ARE THOSE GUYS?? Lets face it GLW is the Rodney Dangerfield of the Fiberoptic World...they get no respect (for the more sensitive members of this thread this is as you know all tongue in cheek...I do very much dislike acrimony on this or any other thread!!)

Dok

PS I think we should nominate DR. Andy Y to be an esteemed member of this thread ... he sure knows alot about all of this technical stuff...

All good points, but I still don't believe that you're lagging my performance. You're trying to sandbag me! <GGG>
