What little advertisement? As a one-time paid user, I see no advertisements, further reinforcing your point.

Curiously, Yahoo doesn't seem to have trouble getting ad revenue. One reason is that internet ads can be targeted much better, making them much more efficient. This allows ad revenue to increase way beyond that predicted by a broadcast model.

Check out one of the help sites such as learn2.com or how.com. You go to learn about, say, home improvement, and there you see a bunch of ads for home improvement products and services.

This can also backfire. I gave up trying to find free pornography on the internet as the popup ads became too troublesome.

BO - I do not see the ad here, but I know what you are talking about. RB does that all the time. It's really awful, and as you say, an act of desparation.
