brian,sonny and thread.. some stuff i pickeup ..just fyi. $200; firm lifts target on JDS Uniphase (JDSU 277 +13 3/8) from a range of $250-$275 to $300; reiterates STRONG BUY rating on both stocks; cites comparables and momentum. i think they mean post split target of 300 unless the target is for one week. --------- there is now b2b holder from ML. B2B infrastructure companies such as Commerce One (CMRC), Ariba (ARBA), and Oracle (ORCL) will do well even as business suppliers in such sectors as autos are pressured by the introduction of B2B exchanges =============== recently Lucent has suffered from a decline in software sales due to stiffer competition, changes in customer purchase decisions, and bottle-necks in its fiber optics division that have caused the company to warn about results for the first half of 2000 and prompted the stock to fall from the fast growth lane that justified its high multiple. The spin-off should allow management to better focus on the issues that have hurt performance and the stock, while the spun-off company should not be a slouch either as with $8 bln in business and a high quality customer list, it stands to be very competitive from the start =========== America Securities raises its target price on Atmel from $60 to $75 and ups FY00 EPS estimate from $0.83 to $0.98...
