Phil,

The other dimension of risk with respect to these exploration stocks is that they are not liquid most of the time. You can't get out when desired unless there is a large short position that usually covers on the way down and gives a better opportunity for the mistakes of the long side to be corrected. Everyone who plays these crazy stocks should be praying for a big short position as it helps liquidity and does not hurt it. Think about it aside from the relative valuation aspects. Learn from the mistake. There?s a lot of money to be made this year in exploration stocks, I think.

The PFG play won't be over until they drill 10 holes or so and get sporadic results or worse or, it may be economic. Has to be drilled and I'd rather buy it higher and know that there is a chance of a business. Yahoo is already a core Internet business. It also may be expensive but I can buy and sell millions of dollars worth everyday. (If I had it!) Check out the short position in Yahoo. I don't hear anybody bitching about it as most understand its role and value.
