JDN, you should pat yourself on the back for being responsible. Instead of sitting back in New York, California, or Illinois taking pot shots at GW, you have based your opinions on your own, actual experience. I salute you for that!! Wouldn't it be nice if more people would learn a bit more about the subjects they discuss. From what I see on this thread, the liberals have reverted to their usual selves, and are lashing out with "name calling" again. Without a reasonable argument, that is the only option that pops into their addled minds. ~H~

That's the kind of guy I'd heard he was. Thanks for the real life version.

JDN,

What a wonderful experience you had with George W. We in Texas are not surprised. We've heard several other similar happenings. He is sooooo down to earth. There are few people, here, in Texas, that don't appreciate his attitude toward Democrats and Republicans. He has filled the judicial courts with many Democrats (hopefully they are now Republicans). He's the best thing that has happened to the Texas Governorship. In a nutshell, he is a DECENT human being. And he has a lovely wife, even if she is a Librarian. He He

That's a great story JDN! And I sensed the same sort of thing from him recently during a town hall meeting here in Washington State.

You know how most famous people give a speech and then sort of shake a few hands and walk away? Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see George W spent an amazing amount of time after the meeting shaking nearly every persons hand in the room and greeting them. It must have taken 45 minutes to an hour. But he stayed and must have met every person who wanted to meet him that night.

There was a sincere genuineness about the man. He didn't seem to be doing it because he was supposed to it in order to win a campaign. He seemed like he was just being himself, meeting people from Washington State and enjoying the whole experience.

It was nice to read your story because I could relate. Thanks for chiming into the thread.

Michael
