I admit to a sick fascination with WWRC-AM 570 "business radio", but only when I am in my car, and I try not to listen to it unless WHFS-FM 99.1, WWDC-FM 101.1, and WETA-FM 90.9 aren't playing anything worth listening to. I think it's a sign of the mania that this station exists, but my husband recently told me of something even worse - the McDonald's in Crystal City has two TVs playing CNNFN or CNBC all day long hanging where the patrons can watch them while eating.

U Dee Chang is the butt of one of my favorite anecdotes about TA - one Friday afternoon he did his usual TA wrapup, took a commercial break, and when he took the break the announcer said that he'd stated the closing numbers wrong, he was using the 2 p.m. numbers. After the commercial break he came back and re-did the wrapup using the correct numbers, a completely different analysis because the markets had rallied dramatically before the markets closed. He never missed a beat.

As for my "stock picks," use them to wrap fish.
