Fred, Paul, others,

I hate to tell you but there obviously is a greater power at work within Novell that does not share our view of the way Novell should attack the market and industry. When Eric promotes the exact person that we all know this board is complaining about, it has to tell you something.

We all know they read our posts - the question is - are they seriously pondering the thoughts and ideas that are extruded out of this board or do they sit back and chuckle? Are we simply the must-read daily Dilbert strip for Novellers?

Novell - the voices on this board are from those that have no fear to call a spade - a spade. To tell you the way it is (without fear of being fired or slapped on the hand). We are your stock-holders, your customers, your smallest and largest business partners. We are a view of you through the filters that make up a portion of the real world you must succeed in. All of us have a stake in your success so we care in some way or we all wouldnt be on this board posting.

Why do you think the Hubble space telescope was put into orbit around the earth? The answer: to get a much clearer view of the stars without the distortions of earth's atmosphere. Consider us to be one of your Hubbles to help you see the real industry/world more clearly from your disadvantaged position inside Novell.

WOW - my grey-matter has to rest after those profound thoughts!

Toy - standing down!

Let me do one more level of clarification

The Palm Pilot.
It doesn't even use Microsoft's OS. No excuses there.

Isn't it possible that one of Novell's technologies could be applied to the development of a consumer level product for the Palm Pilot?

We need the same type of initiative that produced digitalme more than a year ago to come forth with some other consumer level product. From the trenches not from the top!

Keep trying!!!

Fedrick and thread,

Based upon reading everyones comments and frustrations, this is exactly the reason why NOVL would be a nice takeover candidate:

1- Market cap is nothing for the big guys
2- they have great products but the value has not been unleashed
3- you take them out and get rid of the dead wood, old time thinking and bring the products into a firm that thinks and acts in INTERNET TIME.

Make sense!? It sounds like you guys think the product is great, just the execution and strategy stnks!? Fair assessment?
