Crazyman, <I too wonder about MSFT's ability to crank out a viable 64-bit OS in the near term> MSFT have been working on a 64 bit version of Windows for quite a while now. I doubt Intel would set a ship date for Itanium if it did not expect to have a Microsoft OS and some server apps available at the same time. The nice thing is that - in the short term Sledge should be able to run specific high-performance 64 bit apps while running 32 bit versions of Windows - most of the 64 bit Windows code will port to Sledge with just a simple recompile.
