RE: CAP at Columbia

Mike - get over there. It's really a good site and should be right up your alley.

According to Lucy over at the Fool, The Gorilla Game was mentioned in the WSJ interactive today.

Here's the link:

This morning's Wall Street Journal contained their annual Shareowner's Scorecard. One of the articles recommends the GG approach.

"The portfolio approach for high-technology stocks advocated by Geoffrey A. Moore, Paul Johnson and Tom Kippola in "The Gorilla Game" (Harper Business, 1999 is particularly prudent because of the winner-take-all phenomenon so prevalent in high technology." WSJ 3/1/2000

Another item on the internet that might be of interest to any of you that have invested in the royalty play of Broadcom can listen to the CFO's interview at the BancBoston Robertson Stephens technology conference.

Here's that link:

That's about all the material I can steal for one day. <ggg>

Hi, Mike. I've looked at Johnson's site, and just looked a bit again. Haven't found it real helpful for our purposes, given the emphasis on Stock Options. Also, some of the links in the site are dead.

Re CTXS-- I will look. I am primarily interested because of my Project Hunt assignment on Phone.com. Citrix isn't even listed on PHCM's 10K as a competitor. But, it seems clear from the Psion announcement that they do compete. Back to the drawing boards!

RE: Qualcom

Can we talk about our biggest holding: Qualcom. Unlike Lindybill who moved some of his mullu out of the stock, I am sure there are many of us with a big percentage of our holdings in this stock.

Mr. Buckley, can you please give us a short summary of the company? I am sure many of us will be interested in hearing your thoughts on the short and long term prospects of the company as you see it today.

On one hand we are getting lots of good news about the future of the CDMA technology. But we are also getting signals that China might be a tough place to do business, you have not been happy with the latest CDMA user growth, and MOT making headlines of a CDMA technology double the speeds of HDR.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Don't miss ORCL. ORCL will be the TOP provider of B2B virtual exchanges. They are building an AutoXchange with Ford, GM, and Chrysler. It will be the largest B2B virtual exchange in the world with over 1 TRILLION $$$ in annual volume. I've heard that there are many other B2B virtual exchange deals in the works and because of the quality and scalability, all of ORCL's competition is being driven to ORCL's solution. It is being rumored that ORCL will spin off an IPO of its part of the AutoXchange.

I remain,
