The sad part about it is that when the fit hits the shan we will all pay for it and then be asked to bail out the dirt bags than benefited and cashed in on the boom.

Unfortunately, I think that may be a half way accurate description of what is going on. But the masses do have a chance to avoid part of it but their greed won't let them.
