First of all, US unemployment rates are always manipulated to eliminate whole classes of people deemed to be lazy or such. Its also a matter of opinion as to what is considered employment. In the US, a job at McDonalds is considered employment. In Britain, that same job would be considered a form of punishment. Europeans in general do not have to stoop to this modern form of slavery and may choose to remain unemployed and receive welfare, a choice that Americans, who are fond of self abuse apparently, do not have.
