Joe,

Whatever Itanium gives up in MHz, it makes up in Watts.

By the time they sell Itanium at CompUsa
---

Oh, please. I realize that people around here like to use hyperbole to make their point, but that's just ridiculous. When was the last time CompUsa stocked servers? Did I somehow miss a pile of Compaq 6400Rs?

Joe - Re: "But I don't think people will fall for that. They will see that by the fall, they will be able to buy 1,000 MHz from AMD. They can add that 800 MHz Itanium is not as good as 1,000 MHz Athlon, even if you throw in extra 32 bits for free. Because AMD is giving you extra 200 MHz."

Try plugging 2 or 4 AthWipeys into a Server System.

Try running Oracle 8i database on that AthWipey system with a 32 GigaByte database.

You still can't see past your nose, Joe.

I'm surprised your "Cyrix Experience" taught you nothing.
