I'm no fan of Newt the Tofflerite, but he should be given credit for the House win in 94. It was a stunning achievement. Also, the only charge of official corruption that stuck was charge #54 that the obsessed David Bonior brought forward. The first 53 charges were found to be groundless. And that charge was a book keeping error that was later dropped. Bonior and co. got nothing for their efforts. Of course the media did not cover his exoneration as extensively as they covered Bonior's diatribes. Gingrich deserves an apology.
