They aren't. Intel has for years dropped prices slightly IN ADVANCE of product launches, not the same day.

Somebody leaked something that wasn't meant for public consumption, and then it was misinterpreted. The channel and OEM's know when the launch date really is. End of story.

Get real. In the last month INTC has outperformed AMD (same time period as all this flap). Markets can evidently discern rumor mongering bullsh*t when need be.
