That SLB news site is REALLY slick! In response to your question about news changing prices, I see only two pieces of news this week with this ability. One is the OPEC meeting in London tomorrow morning, and I don't see them changing their plans. They will be conservative, but may boost multiple times before summer The other is below, and it has the ability to drive oil prices over $40 by the end of the week, but the union has cried wolf too many times to be taken seriously. I doubt they have the ability to back their threats. slb.com Ortega said an official call for strike action could come as early as this afternoon. Ricardo Vargas, head of the fledgling Sintraip oil union, insisted the strike would disrupt Venezuela's oil exports. "We are talking about paralysing the oil industry in terms of both the production and transport of crude oil and its sales overseas, because the tankers will not sail," Vargas said.
