No. There is a difference between keeping religious belief private and the efforts of some to remove religious influence, i.e., morality, from anywhere ever-expanding government would intrude. It was a natural reaction for the religious to respond to such efforts.

Perhaps you don't realize that had religion been really treated as a private matter, there would be no such thing as the Religious Right?

Did I hear you include the Religious LEFT as well? REV. Al Sharpton, REV. Jesse Jackson, ad nausea....
