Novell doesn't need to get into the "hardware" business - in fact if they were to go after that type of market, TRG is a much more attractive company. They are developing an enterprise PalmPilot solution based on their modified Palm units including OS imaging and enhanced PalmPilots (with up to 340MBs of storage) [http://www.trgpro.com or superpilot.com].

That aside, Novell could develop an SDK or some other "tools" to allow developers some "help connecting" to a NetWare network or NDS. They don't actually need to develop the apps (although doing so would be GREAT).

Then again, all of this is moot unless there's more work in terms of SSL over Wireless IP or some other way to enhance security over a wireless connection. (Does WAP do that? if not does secure wireless access protocl become SWAP? hehe).

Good discussion though - anyone else watch XYBR gain about $10 today! (nice call Scott!).

Overboard.....

>>Bottom line is, it is so easy for us to suggest what we think is best for them. But these guys are there every day in the fire. Novell went from 7 to 30's in three years and I am very satisfied by their performance and their positioning for the future. Let's give them valuable suggestions. But going overboard and naming names and asking for their head is way out of line IMHO (not you Paul).>>

George:

Sometimes that's what it takes.

For those who know me, the difference is that I am not bitter. I will do an about face, turn the other cheek and move on in unison with all the positive energy necessary.

For I'm not being negative nor destructive.

I've been asking positive questions: What's it going to take for Novell to finally make the right turn and move ahead with the necessary white hot speed? What's it going to take for them to regain that excitement and passion from last year?

There's an energy block somewhere inside Novell. I'm simply stating from my gut my sense of what's going on.

For some people this can be extremely hard to fathom and understand.

I've found that it's just better for others to know where your coming from. If you think my approach is destructive then I'm really sorry you think this way. I am trying to be very positive and proactive.

If Stewart Nelson where to declare an about face and let some of these more liberating energies thrive inside Novell then I'd be the first to line up and congratulate him. Like any of us, we all have the power to change on a dime and the real beginning of all progress is to forgive.

Some people inside Novell may want my head, others may want my heart and Eric may want my heart, mind and soul. Well I've never talked or spoken to Eric, but he's had all three on these boards for the past few years. This is my FREE gift to Novell. No strings attached. Complete, wide open RISK. He and anyone else can call me crazy. I don't really care. I have a vision and I'm going to share it regardless of what anyone else thinks.

Novell is walking through the divide right now.

Let's all "Let Go" and remain positive about the outcome.

Peace.

GO!!
