Hi KG4,

sorry to hear about your pet. I do not own an animal but my ex. takes care of every animal that comes through her yard. About 11 cats and 3 dogs at the present time. I have come to observe that they are just like her children. Even a non owner understands.

You are so right I use to judge guys by how they treated animals and their mothers.

<<By the way, all our animals we've ever had were strays, or they found us by wandering up needing help.

Sounds like they picked a great place to go ! Yes, my dog and cat are as much a part of my family as I am. The bond is incredible.

I lost a dog when I was about 19, but it was the family dog and I hadnt lived at the house for 3 years. I loved him dearly, and it hurt very, very much when he died, but this is just so differant. When I was 20, I got skittles. We immediately formed a very, very tight bond...just me and him...girlfriends came and wen't. A few years later, I met my future wife, and we also got a dog. Anyway, skittles dying was my first experience losing a pet that was literally a part of me for 15 years. I loved my dog dearly when I was younger, but this is just so different. I am now saddened by the prospect and eventual reality of losing our dog, Jade, since she is now 10. It hurts to even think about....

Anyway....thanks alot for your thoughts
